Abstract: To sustain in today s global completion, organizations key to long-term success is being newlineable to do certain things better than your competitors can do. Hence many companies are newlinein the process of trying to do it right the first time in every process of the business like newlinenew product development, supply chain management, marketing and manufacturing newlineprocesses also. Traditional manufacturing approaches are no longer sufficiently newlinecompetitive weapons by themselves. Organizations must consequently develop new newlinemethods and perspectives to meet these market needs in a timely and cost effective newlinemanner. In response to this, many organizations have started to adopt different newlinephilosophies like Total Quality Management, Total Preventive Maintenance, Six Sigma, newlineLean Enterprise etc., in their business processes to stay in the competitive world market. newlineIn the pursuit of improved operational performance and higher customer satisfaction, six newlinesigma has been recognized as a systematic and structured methodology that attempts to newlineimprove process capability through focusing on customer needs. Although many Indian newlineindustries have started embraced the six sigma business improvement strategy, the newlineadoption of said strategy in Indian industries is not as encouraging as it should be. newline
