Abstract: Service Oriented Architecture is a widely adopted architectural paradigm to newlinemodel integration needs of the distributed enterprise systems. The traditional newlineway of designing SOA systems could sustain monolithic development newlinemethodology and static QoS-aware needs. However the same can no longer newlinesupport the adaptive and quality driven needs of measured and managed newlineservice delivery. newlineIn order to address this, an exhaustive review of the existing QoS-aware newlinedesign and discovery approaches supporting agile and adaptive needs of SOA newlinewas carried out. It is realized that there is a scope and need to address QoS newlineprogression in the adaptive layer of the SOA stack. newlineConsidering the gaps this thesis intends to build the foundation for adaptive newlineand QoS aware SOA systems. It argues the need for promoting adaptive newlinedesign for agile requirements. As a result, a modified Blitz QFD technique newlineis defined for requirements elicitation to yield prioritized set of agile requirements, newlinepromoting adaptive design. newlineBesides that a significant need for adaptive discovery framework is realized, newlinefor an enterprise-wide adoption. An adaptive framework for QoS-aware newlinediscovery is designed for redundant SOA services. In the process a lightweight newlineQoS domain specific language, classification and evaluation mechanism, newlineand a selection algorithm for ranking and choosing the best service newlinebased on QoS goals, as specified by end-user is implemented as a part of this newlineframework.All the associated algorithms and simulation software has been opensourced on GitHub. newline newline
