Abstract: The thesis presents novel model for Energy Efficient Virtual Machine (VM) Allocation in Federated cloud data centers. The goal is to improve the utilization of the resources and reduce energy consumption without violating Service Level Agreement (SLA) terms. The VM allocation is performed in two phases. In the first phase the energy efficient Initial VM allocation algorithm is proposed and in the second phase, VM Allocation is optimized by dynamic VM consolidation approach. A Support vector machine regression-based method is proposed for VM consolidation phase. newline
