Abstract: The present thesis deals about the study of convective instability of a fluidsaturated newlinehorizontal porous layer heated from below under the influence of additional newlineconstraints like chemical reaction internal heat source cross diffusions soret effect newlinesoret and dufour effects the linear and or non linear stability analyses are performed newlinewhich are based on the usual normal mode technique and truncated fourier series newlinemethod respectively the linear theory provides the onset criteria for both stationary newlineand oscillatory convection while the non linear theory gives information about the newlinefinite amplitude motions and quantification of heat and mass transport newline
